Update: Final Photos Are In!

Look for the May-June issue of Architecture MN (publication of the Minnesota AIA and available on newsstands now). It features beatuiful photos of our Douglas fir, gone from salvage to breakfast in Jason Hammond's kitchen bar.

>>See eNews/April for our intro to Jason's project blog at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

>>Also, at Jason's blog - look for snapshots of installing the breakfast bar.

Full Circle Story: The Laminator meets White Oak Tank Stock

1) Pete and Rick fine tune Duluth Timber's newly acquired laminating machine, circa 1963. Learn more about The Laminator and see more photos on our Laminates page.

2) They glue up some white oak salvaged from wine tanks, revealing gorgeous color variations ranging in tone from burgundy (no pun intended) to champaign (okay, okay), from the natural absorption of spirits in cellulose.

3) Last stop, custom wine bar at Duluth's Chester Creek Cafe, where David Livingston caresses the salvaged surface. Stop in, embibe at the white oak counter, sketch your design ideas on cocktail napkins, and place your order now!
