California foresters of old
California loggers, circ. 1920

Chapter 1:

Long ago—more than one hundred years--men harvested huge trees along America’s west coast. They sawed down the mighty Douglas Fir from the temperate rain forests of Oregon and Washington State. They took down towering Redwoods from northern California. These trees were the old-growth grand-daddies of North America and the sawyers who took them were pioneer settlers of the West. Meanwhile, in the southern U.S., Heart Pine (also known as Southern Yellow Pine) and Cypress were being harvested in much the same way.

One hundred years later, this is the wood we sell.
